At the Hotel Pitti Palace al Ponte Vecchio takes place the  pilot  experiment  of the orientation Life Beyond Tourism^®, accordingly to the Life Beyond Tourism^®'s Declaration of Intents signed on the 16th of March, 2008.

In this respect, it is important that the relationship and the approach to our  guests  goes beyond the mere offer of commercial services, but it also become an opportunity to foster the deep understanding of the visited place, its past, its present, and its future development.

In order to give our contribution to offer a real understanding of the local traditions,  local culture and local traditional knowledges, the Hotel provides informational materials and tools such as:

• Touch screens - which contain maps and selected 'alternative' Itineraries that allow the traveller to experience the city from a less known point of view. Touch Screens also provide information about local Museums and Monuments, as well as about local cuisine traditions and habits.

• The first 3 channels of the rooms' TV are dedicated to three different videos about the history and the main masterpieces of Florence.
• Food and Wine tasting of traditional Florentine, Tuscan, and Italian products at our Chamber Breakfast. A selected cantina of Italian and international wines and liquors (under request).

• A small collection of books related to the Florentine heritage is available to our guests in the Hall. Guests can also contribute to enalrge the hotel's library by leaving their favourite pubblication, and by consequently linking their contribution the  next incoming guest. The small library is situated in a corner of the Hall, where guests have the possibility to encounter, meet, and discuss one another.
